A PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) is a system that enables the proper storage, transmission, communication, distribution, visualization, and printing of digital medical images
An RIS is a Radiology Information System that allows and facilitates the management of digital medical images.
With an RIS, it is possible to:
- Schedule appointments
- Register patient demographic data
- Generate a report
- Maintain proper control of the patient’s radiological record.
- Firstly, the equipment in the area must produce digital images in DICOM format. In the case of X-rays, images are obtained from the CR.
- It must have an internet connection.
- It must have a free IP address within the same network segment as the imaging equipment.
- On the day of installation, it is necessary to have the presence of engineers from the modalities that you want to connect.
Different stages have been identified in the planning of a PACS service installation.
We invite you to take into account the following stages:
- Planning
- Installation
- Configuration
- Connection
- Implementation
- Technical support
You must acquire a Windows device that will be known as a router. The router will be responsible for receiving images from different modalities and sending them to the cloud.
The setup and installation time for the router is approximately four days. It is important to note that for the configuration and installation of the PACS, the presence and advice of engineers from the brands of the modalities you want to connect is necessary.
The charge is per study, not per image. Please identify each study by modality, i.e., a study sent from ultrasound, CR, CT scan, etc.
The storage of each study is for 7 years.
Our platform is certified under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which ensures the privacy of both digital and physical medical records.
This law establishes that digital medical records produced by healthcare organizations must be stored off-site in a disaster-proof recovery facility.
Additionally, the data centers are in the Tier 4 category, which offers the following advantages:
- Double redundancy
- Scalability without interrupting the service
- Support for unplanned or emergency events
- High fault tolerance
- Preventive, corrective, and progressive maintenance without affecting performance
- Availability of 99.995%.
Unlike traditional storage systems (film banks, external hard drives, printed files) that are more exposed to theft, copying, and deterioration, cloud storage offers an increase in security and control of the information stored.
To address concerns about data transmission over the internet, we would like to inform you that the information is encrypted under the SHA-256 protocol (algorithms designed by the NSA), guaranteeing the confidentiality of records and therefore the integrity of patients and the institution.
Additionally, HTTPS protocols are used, whose security protocol is similar to that used in banking systems. On the other hand, backups are made three times a day, weekly, and monthly, ensuring the availability of data and frequent audits.

Teleradiology is a compound word that includes the prefix “tele” which means far away, and refers to all practices aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of patients performed at a geographical distance from them.
With the recent emergence of high-speed networks and specialized programs for the management of medical images, teleradiology is becoming a real solution for hospitals, clinics, and medical offices in Mexico.
This practice has a positive impact on patient care regardless of location and time of day.
By using this resource, a hospital located in a rural area of the country can obtain the same quality in the interpretation of radiological studies as a hospital located in a large city.
Raditech is a high-specialty medical group linked to the National Institutes of Health, whose main goal is to put teleradiology in a privileged link in the interpretation, diagnosis, and timely treatment, consultation through the generation of current medical images and for research.
Raditech offers the possibility of installing configured workstations to the equipment of your center, department or imaging office, along with configurable and user-friendly software that will allow you to streamline your processes and use more than 250 tools for their effectiveness.
